ICC Board accepts AHM Mustafa Kamal’s nomination as ICC Vice-President 2012-14

The International Cricket Council (ICC) Board today unanimously accepted the joint nomination of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) of AHM Mustafa Kamal to the role of ICC Vice-President for 2012-14 and then subsequently as ICC President 2014-15. 

Following the announcement from the ICC Mr. Kamal said: “I want to thank the ICC Board for accepting my nomination as the next Vice-President. This is indeed a proud moment for Bangladesh and its 160 million cricket-loving people and a tribute to our undying passion for this noble game. I am thankful to all the Member Nations.

“I also take this opportunity to express my utmost appreciation for the continuous assistance I have received from the Bangladesh Government. Especially, I am indebted to the Hon’ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for her unending support. 

“I am particularly grateful to the Pakistan Cricket Board for its display of faith in me throughout this process starting from the joint nomination.

“The Bangladesh Cricket Board Directors, officials and employees have been a constant source of strength and encouragement for me and I thank them from the bottom of my heart.”

Mr. Kamal, who is now in Colombo, Sri Lanka to attend the ICC Executive Board meeting, is expected to return to Dhaka on Thursday.
